START is a 6-week program specifically available to assist Newcomer women, who face a number of employment barriers, including little or no employment experience and a minimum English language level of CLB 3 and above.
Participants will learn, develop and enhance their Canadian workplace culture and life skills, together with; various occupational training programs (practical & theory) (TBD), Occupation Specific Language Training (OSLT), career counseling and job coaching all provided in a real work environment.
The ultimate goal of START is to help these Newcomer women achieve the best jobs possible based upon their training and determination to do better.
Who We Serve: Newcomer Women with little or no work experience in or outside Canada who are Permanent Residents, Convention Refugees, Live-in Caregivers, Refugee Claimants and/or who have a valid Work Permit.
