Tax Clinic
During tax filing season, in collaboration with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), PCAS hosts a free tax clinic in support of low-income individuals and families. Service is provided by appointment in person and virtual assistance; walk-ins are accepted. An eligibility screening will be conducted in person or via telephone.
Eligibility:
-Â Low income (income per household; based on size of household)
-Â Â Â Personal and basic tax preparations
*Tax preparations exclude: Bankruptcy, self-employment, business or rental income/expenses, interest over $1000, capital gains/losses, foreign property (T1135), and deceased individuals.
What you will need to bring:
-Â Â Â Identification (valid photo ID)
-Â Â Â Social Insurance Number
-Â Â Â Tax Slips: income, benefits, social assistance
-Â Â Â Receipts: rent, tuition
-Â Â Â Void Cheque (for direct deposit)
*If filing jointly, spouses should both be present and authorize tax preparation.
