VOCATIONAL AND PSYCHO-VOCATIONAL EVALUATIONS

A Vocational Evaluation will assist a participant in identifying his/her vocational strengths and interests and develop a realistic career goal. A Psycho-Vocational Evaluation includes all the steps found in a Vocational Evaluation with the addition of psychological intelligence testing. The results of the intelligence testing are reviewed and interpreted by a Registered Psychologist.  In a two to three day period, participant's will develop a vocational profile that:

bullet

identifies vocational aptitudes, strengths and interest using intelligence testing, work samples, interest surveys, and functional testing

bullet

provides vocational options that take full advantage of a participant's abilities

bullet

identifies supports needed to successfully plan and complete a career path

bullet

provides a transferable skills analysis that is conducted to develop a composite profile of an individual's work-related skills and abilities based on employment history, test performance, education, previous training, personal interests and any documented restrictions.

In addition, the Peel Career Counselling Centre offers evaluation and a screening assessment through simulated work samples in a wide variety of skilled areas such as: electronic assembly; machine trades; electrical wiring, plumbing, etc.
